The graduate certificate program in healthcare corporate compliance is offered jointly by the College of Professional Studies and the Milken Institute School of Public Health. The program offers a comprehensive education in healthcare corporate compliance, including coverage of healthcare statutes and regulations and tools and strategies for developing and sustaining effective corporate compliance programs.
Designed for the working professional, the 12-credit certificate program is open to current or aspiring corporate compliance officers. The course of study, which can be completed in just over seven months, is divided into three segments:
- A one-week residency at GW's Graduate Education Center in Alexandria, Virginia (3 credits)
- A six-month, online learning segment (6 credits)
- A three-day capstone residency in Alexandria, Virginia (3 credits)
Students may wish to pursue the certificate in healthcare corporate compliance as part of either the dual master of health administration (MHA) and graduate certificate or master of public health (MPH) in the field of health policy and graduate certificate program. In both dual programs, credits earned in successful completion of the certificate program can be counted toward the master’s degree, if admitted. Students interested in the dual programs should consult the program director. The certificate also may be added to the online MPH (MPH@GW) and online MHA (MHA@GW) degrees offered by the Milken Institute School of Public Health.
The graduate certificate is accredited by the Compliance Certification Board and is offered in partnership with the law firm of Feldesman Tucker Leifer Fidell LLP.
