The Department of Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies offers a dual bachelor of arts in women's, gender, and sexuality studies and master of arts in the field of public policy, women's, gender, and sexuality studies concentration degree. Students in the dual degree program engage in critical debates on gender and sexuality studies and receive rigorous interdisciplinary training to provide a foundation for scholarly research and analysis. Students also specialize in a disciplinary or topical area of their choice. The program allows students to take up to 12 graduate credits as part of their undergraduate program, thereby decreasing the number of credits normally required for the master's degree. All requirements for both degrees must be fulfilled. Students take at least four policy courses in GW’s Trachtenberg School of Public Policy and Public Administration. Students in the BA/MA program must complete one of following:
- Master’s thesis
- Internship-based practicum and case study
- Practicum and independent research
