The Department of Sociology and the Trachtenberg School of Public Policy and Public Administration (TSPPPA) in the Columbian College of Arts in Sciences together offer a dual bachelor of arts with a major in human services and social justice and master of public administration degree program. The program allows students to take 12 credits in graduate courses as part of their undergraduate program, thereby completing the master’s degree on an accelerated timeline. All requirements for both degrees must be fulfilled.
Students in the bachelor's program complete a 1-credit prerequisite course, PPPA 6000 Perspectives on Public Values, during their junior year in preparation for master’s-level coursework. Undergraduate students taking graduate Public Policy and Public Administration (PPPA) courses must work with a TSPPPA advisor in addition to their HSSJ advisor.
