Textiles are intertwined with cultures spanning human history. They are among the oldest objects created to communicate ideas, engineer environments, and exchange currencies. This micro-minor provides experiential learning opportunities to highlight the material, social, economic, and cultural impact of textiles within their historical contexts. It invites students to expand their research methodologies beyond the classroom by offering hands-on experiences with museum artifacts from around the world.
The Textile and Dress Studies minor is open to all undergraduate students.
