Post-Master's Certificate in Advanced Practice of Education Policy

The post-master’s certificate in the advanced practice of education policy provides a policy leadership curriculum designed for mid-career professionals interested in developing responsive and effective education policies that are evidence-informed and practicable. The program is designed to be completed in one year, with two semesters of executive-style, cohort-based coursework and learning modules. The 12 credits of coursework focus on critical topics in policy development, implementation, communication, and use of evidence. While providing grounding in the literature, the curriculum emphasizes problem-based learning, case study analysis, and reflective practice to apply knowledge and sharpen skills. Students can expect to increase their knowledge of effective policy development practices and implementation strategies, enhance skills necessary to use evidence in constructing and implementing policy at national and local levels, and learn to communicate policy issues and solutions strategically across multiple audiences.
