This course uses CCAS Cloud; course makes use of SMPA video editing lab, the SMPA studio and camera equipment. Course requires the Adobe suite of programs.

Capstone production experience for SMPA majors. Students report, produce, direct, and edit GW student news broadcasts. Laboratory fee.
1. Understand how a broadcast studio functions 2. demonstrate competency at each area of responsibility: directing, camera, anchoring, audio, videotape, switching, and prompting. 3. Produce broadcast journalism stories that meet industry standards of professionalism and ethics. 4. Analyze the effectiveness of television reports and apply critical thinking to your work.
