This course develops in clinical psychology doctoral students basic skills necessary for therapeutic effectiveness through motivational interviewing and familiarizes them with goals and values in their clinical training.
Students will begin to learn the skills necessary for therapeutic effectiveness through Motivational Interviewing. In additional, students will gain familiarity with the clinical psychology program’s goals and values in clinical training.

Course Attribute

Proposed as 0 credit course to meet an APA accreditation requirement of sequential training in clinical psychology skills and to make it visible on the student's transcript to assist them in obtaining licensing as a psychologist.
