Explanation of how the course differs from similar GW courses
The topics may be of interest to students in other STEM programs, and the emphasis is on specific areas of interest to students in STEM research and education. No other course at GW combines those two aspects.
For the GWTeach program, this course will allow students to get teaching experience in the undergraduate classroom as a Learning Assistant. Another purpose is to support the Minor in STEM Teaching by allowing students to combine the two-credit LA Pedagogy course with a one-credit topics course as an option for completing 3 credits toward the Minor.
