The use of intrusion detection systems (IDS) as part of an organization’s overall security mechanisms; implementation and testing of IDS security plans, security monitoring, intrusion detection, alarm management, analysis of events and trends, and vulnerability management.
- Understand intrusion detection tools and techniques in order to improve security and reduce vulnerabilities. - Analyze and compare intrusion detection systems and approaches. - Identify and describe appropriate situations and scenarios where intrusion detection may be applied to reduce risk. - Monitor and evaluate audit logs and set administrative alerts. - Deploy, implement and test IDS security plan.
