Metabolic and neuromuscular adaptations that occur in response to acute and chronic exercise. Biochemical pathways responsible for energy production during rest and exercise, and how these pathways adapt with chronic training. Neural, hormonal, and nutritional factors that influence exercise performance. Laboratory fees.
• Students will demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the physiology of exercise. • Students will demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the role of exercise training and regular physical activity as it relates to improved health and performance. • Students will demonstrate knowledge and understanding of various programmatic design variables that can be manipulated to bring about specific exercise outcomes. • Students will demonstrate knowledge and understanding of current evidence- based aspects of exercise training as it relates to improved health and performance. • Students will integrate scientific theory and principles through laboratory experiences.
