Explanation and demonstration of the use of therapeutic modalities on the healing process, including discussion of the use of therapeutic modalities to enhance the rehabilitation process after athletic injury. Laboratory fee.
• Identify the processes of trauma, wound healing and tissue repair and their implications on the selection and application of therapeutic modalities • Describe and apply the contemporary pain-control theories • Identify appropriate therapeutic modalities for the treatment and rehabilitation of injuries and illnesses • Explain the body’s response during and following the application of therapeutic modalities • Perform and assessment of patients to identify indications, contraindications, and precautions applicable to applying therapeutic modalities • Documentation of treatment goals, expectations, and treatment outcomes for the use of therapeutic modalities • Demonstrate cultural competence when interacting with patients, clients, and other health care professional
