Study of coach/athlete behavioral patterns and interactions, coaching methods, and interdisciplinary principles applicable to coaching.
1. Recognize and identify athlete/coach behaviors in a coaching environment. 2. Demonstrate knowledge of basic principles of small group behavior, developmental psychology, exercise physiology, nutrition, and motor learning as they relate to coaching individual and team sports. 3. Show knowledge of motivation principles and team culture as it relates to teaching, coaching, and competing in sport. 4. Describe the various roles and administrative tasks undertaken by coaches. 5. Analyze the basic philosophical, moral and legal issues that exist in the coaching environment.
