Cross-sectional view of those areas of medicine most involved with the treatment of handicapped individuals; application of engineering theory and techniques to the rehabilitation of handicapped individuals; solutions to major problem areas and specific problems.
1. Develop an understanding of the underlying science and engineering, measurement, models and categories of disability, and Universal Design 2. Demonstrate understanding of the underlying anatomy and physiology of rehabilitation for mobility, sensory, and cognitive disabilities 3. Demonstrate understanding of rehabilitation for functional activities and for functional participation, especially as applied to mobility/manipulation, sensory, and cognitive disabilities 4. Demonstrate understanding of the integration of assessment methods in rehabilitation engineering
