The early modern period in Spain through the Inquisition and other related institutions as well as through artistic production.
After completing this course students will be able to:
1) Employ strategies of close reading to analyze primary sources related to Early Modern institutions, cultural practices, and literary movements.
2) Identify theses of critical texts and apply them to primary sources
3) Historicize the Inquisition and other Early Modern phenomena and articulate the importanc eof their legacy in today's world
