Review of nuclear reactor engineering, traditional and developing reactor design, issues regarding the safe operation of nuclear plant, and control and regulatory aspects of nuclear power generation.
Course outcomes: (i) Students will be able to collaborate in the design of the electrical equipment in a nuclear plant (ii) Students will be able to apply their knowledge of the standards and Nuclear regulatory Commission’s requirements to ensure the safety of operation of nuclear plant (iii) Students will be able to support the management of nuclear plant including waste disposal and emergency operation.
