The clinical science, basic science, and public health content related to hematology, immune and inflammatory responses, and infectious disease. The course content serves as a necessary foundation for the organ- and system-specific content provided subsequently in the Fundamentals of Medicine course as well as to prepare students for the clinical clerkships. A required course for first-year medical students only.
