Discuss National Standards and assessment guidelines for proficiency development, and current studies of second language acquisition (SLA). Examine key issues, studies, and practices on the teaching and acquisition of difficult areas of Chinese, such as the pronunciation and writing systems, as well as topics of general interest. Explore language-teaching methodologies and techniques, and Chinese language testing and assessment. Permission of the instructor required prior to enrollment.
