The functions, capacities, and governance of international health organizations; the normative power of some international health organizations for regulatory processes; and evidence-based development of public health policies with attention to issues of global trade as it shapes worldwide and national health.
• Describe the architecture and roles of international health actors including international organizations, civil society organizations, the private sector, and analyze the challenges for global health governance • Analyze international health institutional conditions and make specific political, organizational, and financial recommendations on how they might be strengthened; • Describe the process of policy development in relation to international health agreements, their influence at the national and international level, and critique the roles of international organizations in the development and implementation of global health policy; • Evaluate strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of an international health organization in addressing a major global health problem from a human rights perspective.
