The federal laws and regulations that affect U.S. health care industry participants, particularly those relating to the prevention of fraud and abuse, and the role of corporate compliance programs.
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. Understand the fundamental laws and regulations that that affect U.S. health care industry participants; the development and enforcement of these laws and regulations; the key law and policymakers that develop and interpret these laws and regulations; the core elements of a corporate compliance program; and the development, implementation and maintenance of a corporate compliance program; and 2. Identify and apply trends in health care industry corporate compliance and discuss future developments.
