Theoretical and empirical analyses of women’s health: how women’s health is constructed by medical, psychological, and critical theorists; how sexism, racism, and classism contribute to women’s health problems; and identification of conditions that lead to optimal health and well-being.
As a result of completing this course, students will be able to:
• Know key issues affecting women’s morbidity, mortality, and well-being
• Apply an intersectional analysis to topics in women’s health
• Synthesize and analyze key arguments based on qualitative and quantitative data and diverse theoretical orientations
