Students work with faculty mentors to conceive of, design, and develop an implementation and evaluation plan for a project, innovation, or work product in their place of employment, other sponsoring organization, or community setting with the purpose of advancing the health of LGBT persons in a real world context. Students work in consultation with mentors in summer and spring residency periods with distance and in-the-field completion of the project throughout the program year.
At the completion of this course, the student will be able to: • Assimilate knowledge from multiple courses in the Program. • Recognize the potential that one person can have on changing population health; and • Demonstrate to the community at-large the positive impact that a holistic examination of a population can bring in advancing health and policy.
