Passive and active vibration control of discrete and continuous systems, dynamic vibration absorbers, random vibrations, failure analysis, modal analysis, nonlinear vibrations.
1. Describe the important properties of free and forced vibration systems 2. Apply force/moment/energy balances to derive EOMs for SDOF/MDOF/continuous systems 3. Convert between frequency and time domains and determine which is appropriate 4. Develop analytical and computational solution procedures for free and forced vibrations 5. Specify desired transient and steady-state response characteristics 6. Apply time and frequency domain control design techniques to meet desired performance
