Second of a two-semester sequence. Integration and application of skills and knowledge acquired in the mechanical engineering curriculum. Students define objectives and an approach for a mechanical engineering project involving experimentation and apply mechanical engineering design, engineering, and laboratory skills in team project implementation. Includes a significant engagement in writing as a form of critical inquiry and scholarly expression to satisfy the WID requirement.
1. By conducting independent background research, define objectives and an
approach for a mechanical engineering project involving experimentation.
2. Apply mechanical engineering design, engineering and laboratory skills in the
implementation of such project.
3. Give professional oral reports, and advocate for and defend a project in front of a
critical audience.
4. Write professional technical reports.
5. Work as a team and delegate responsibilities to team members.
It is expected that students will integrate and apply skills and knowledge acquired in their
Mechanical Engineering curriculum in the implementation of their project
