Image processing; edge detection, segmentation, local features, shape and region description in 2D and 3D; Insights from human vision studies; representation for vision: object models, synthetic images, matching, gaps, algorithms. Interference, production system, syntactic networks; planning spatial reasoning for robot vision.
As a result of completing this course, students will be able to:
1. understand and apply camera models and image formation (including stereopsis and rectification)
2. understand and apply image filtering and feature extraction, and shape description
3. understand and develop methods for segmentation, tracking, object detection, and classification
4. understand, define, and apply performance measures
