Classification of magnetic materials; magnetic measurements; soft and hard magnetic materials; applications to microwave, magnetic recording, permanent magnets, magneto-optics, magnetic refrigeration, sensors, magnetostrictive devices; electric power; superconducting devices. Offered as arranged.
As a result of completing this course, students will be able to:
1. Description of magnetic and semiconductor media.
2. Knowledge of behavior of magnetic devices.
3. Prediction of lifetimes of remanence.
