The student is expected to understand
• The topological design of telecommunication networks
• The network logical control structures and protocols
• The major techniques used in transferring information over the network infrastructure
• The methods used to control the flow of information over the network
• The general structure of applications such as message and file transfer
• The management of the network’s resources.
