Continuation of CHIN 1001. Basic functional and communicative proficiency in Chinese. Development of listening and speaking skills, reading and writing abilities, and cultural awareness.
At the end of this course, students should be able to 1. Comprehend authentic linguistic materials on more complex conversational topics. 2. Analyze sentences using common grammatical terms and tools. 3. Construct more complex linguistic materials on their own, in both the written and the spoken forms. 4. Recognize and be able to write between 400 and 500 characters
