Overview of contracts, specifications, and the legal environment for engineers; construction contracts, specifications, bidding, contract administration, bonds and securities, dispute resolution.
As a result of completing this course, students will have the ability to:
• Develop technical concepts and how to interpret their provisions
• Develop contract requirements, specifications, and clauses
• Get familiar with contract language and be able to communicate the owner requirements
and limitations through contract clauses.
• Evaluate different legal options available in a given scenario and make an informed
decision.
