This immersion experience provides MHA@GW students with the opportunity to synthesize the content from the program's eight learning modules and three prior immersion experiences into a coherent whole, allowing students to critically assess their growth and development as a healthcare leader.
Upon completion of the course, students should be able to: 1) Analyze and apply multiple leadership theories to contemporary health service organizations 2) Evaluate the roles and functions of effective leaders 3) Assess their own leadership strengths and weaknesses and use that insight to develop a plan for continuous self-improvement 4) Analyze the effect that organizational culture and climate has on leaders and leadership 5) Evaluate the relationship between leadership and motivation of staff 6) Examine and assess the connection between power, politics, and leadership
