Required of religion majors. Students refine and consolidate what they have learned over the course of their studies. Includes a significant engagement in writing as a form of critical inquiry and scholarly expression to satisfy the WID requirement.
By the end of this course, students should achieve the following:
1. a refinement and consolidation of their knowledge of the religious tradition in which they have specialized in the Religion major.
2. a refinement and consolidation of the tools needed for the academic study Religion, including critical thinking, research skills, and writing skills.
3. the capacity to formulate a research question and develop it into a well-argued 20-25 page paper in an organized and systematic manner.
4. the capacity to review the work of their peers in a manner that is both critical and constructive.
