This is an advanced course in 3D animation using Cinema 4D software. Students will learn advanced skill sets, project workflow, and production in 3D animation, which includes: 3D space, modeling, lighting, camera use, and textures. Students will learn animation processes, methods, and workflow while designing and producing a single, high quality animation short, graphics package, commercial campaign, or other equally complex portfolio piece. Students will explore the high level subjects of scripting and expressions, while delving deeper into the capabilities of the core foundations of the software as it relates to texture painting and UVs, Organic Modeling, high quality renders, project optimization, and production processes as they relate to real world expectations.
• Mastery in creating and modeling fundamental 3D objects in a 3D space/environment. • Mastery in applying lighting and textures to fundamental 3D objects in a 3D space/enviroment. • Mastery in creating a 3D space/environment: 3D objects, modeling, lighting, textures, camera Point of view (POV) and angles. • Mastery in creating 3D typography in a 3D space/environment: letterforms as 3D objects, modeling, lighting, textures, camera Point of view (POV) and angles. • Mastery in creating and designing storyboards and style frames. • Mastery in using 3D animation software Cinema 4D • Mastery in time management, craft skills (hand and digital) for 3D animation projects. • Mastery in process critiques and formal presentations for for 3D animation projects. • Mastery in precise hand and digital skills—craft and technical skills. • Mastery in developing work ethic, time management, project deadlines, and production workflow • Mastery in using 3D animation, editing & production language/vocabuary to communicate in a professional manner when presenting and critiquing work: articulate, objective, critical, and cordial. • Mastery in working with project criteria and client objectives for 3D animation projects.
