The planning movement in education at the federal, state, division, and building levels; strategic, short-term, and long-term planning processes for school and educational leaders.
• Conceptualize strategic planning through critical review of the literature, theories and best practices in the field;
• Critique models, traditions and approaches that stifle strategic planning as a practice and as a discipline;
• Assess the state of research in strategic planning to identify best practices drawn from local, national and international settings;
• Analyze demographic, economic, social, political and cultural forces that shape the context of strategic planning in education and other non-profit organizations.
