Introduction to programming for data analytics using the Python programming language. Prepares students for higher-level courses in data analytics.
By the end of the course, students will be able to:
• Design and implement Python programs for challenging problems involving real data sources.
• Learn computational problem solving, in the context of data analytics applications and learn about algorithm and data complexity.
• Model using object oriented programming.
• perform program testing and debugging in Python.
• Understand and use various libraries for data manipulation, scientific computing and visualization.
• Use and process real datasets from social networks, such as Twitter, Facebook and more.
• Understand how to design and implement automatic data acquisition systems from various data sources.

This course differs from the myriad of programing courses in that Python is a modern programming language used extensively in data analytics. While the focus of the courses is application to data analytics, the approach is inherently engineering in nature, stressing problem solving and theoretical understanding.
