Introduction to basic approaches to research and professional conduct as a graduate student; curriculum vitae development; scientific writing; human subjects training; biomedical lab safety training; introduction to library resources and literature searches; introduction to writing scientific papers, abstracts, grant applications; and presenting scientific research.
In this course, you will learn to: • Search the scientific literature effectively and efficiently. • Compare journal quality scores, impact factors, citation indices, etc. • Write and submit scientific papers. • Write and submit grant proposals. • Present at scientific meetings, including practice with oral and poster presentations. • Develop curriculum vitae. • Develop teaching methods and course instruction techniques. • Be training in CITI certified courses for research.
