Pathophysiology and diagnostic assessments of common disease conditions affecting individuals across the lifespan.
1. Predict the risks of development and progression of certain illnesses.
2. Discuss the effects of disease processes at the systemic and cellular levels.
3. Explain how regulatory and compensatory mechanisms respond to physiologic alterations.
4. Recognize the signs and symptoms of common health deviations and relate these to underlying pathological processes for each system.
5. Select diagnostic testing based on presenting signs and symptoms and review normal and abnormal values.
6. Recognize the value of taking care of clients and make clinical decisions based on clinical reasoning.
