The application of tools of social network analysis to organizational settings and behavior as well as communication processes, both within and among organizations.
1. Understand the basic concepts and terminology of social network theory; 2. Understand and apply some basic tools of social network analysis; 3. Utilize Ucinet software for social network analysis to assemble, organize and display social network data; 4. Engage in critical thinking regarding the applicability of social network theory and analysis to organizational phenomena; 5. Design an appropriate study to analyze the impact of network structure on organizational phenomena.
