The history and impact of digital technology in modern museum practice; variety of uses and functions of digital technology in modern museums; effects of culture on technology adoption; basic digital strategy and user experience skills.
Students who actively engage in this class by keeping up with class texts, attending to and participating in class discussions, and completing thoughtful assignments will: • Be knowledgeable about the history and impact of digital technology in modern museum practice. • Understand the variety of uses and functions of digital technology in modern museums. • Be able to perceive the effects of culture on technology adoption and be able to consider solutions to challenges digital technology presents to museums. • Develop basic digital strategy and user experience skills.
