Exploration of the role that museums play in the construction, reification, and representation of ideas about race and gender.
At the completion of this course students will:  Better understand the historic and contemporary relationships between and among museums, gender, sexuality, and race  Be able to research and write critically about museum history, theory, and practice  Be familiar with strategies for the development of museum exhibits that critically consider race, gender, and sexuality  Have experience cultivating creative and innovative approaches to exhibitions and programming
