Theory and practice of contemporary painting practices and critical investigation of historical precedents; how painted images circulate. Student project. Materials fee.
1. Solve intermediate color and spatial problems in non-objective and representational painting. 2. Understand and discuss the concerns of contemporary painting practices. 3. Speak and write about the relationship of form to content and meaning in their work and the work of others. 4. Relate their work to a contemporary or historical art lineage. 5. Generate independently conceived creative projects, from idea to completion.
