Fundamentals of line, shape, value, contrast, composition, and mark making. Emphasis on working directly from life. Traditional and contemporary strategies and skills for developing technique, process, and meaning. Conceptual issues. Materials fee.
1. Understand the function and techniques of a variety of drawing media. 2. Strengthen observational drawing skills. 3. Develop a sophisticated vocabulary in order to discuss drawings using the formal elements of art. 4. Enhance their communication skills through the visual language of drawing. 5. Utilize line, value, perspective, and texture to effectively convey space in a drawing.
